Our Story
As a wife and mother of two amazing sons with autism, I’ve had the unique privilege of experiencing the joys, challenges, and transformative lessons that come with raising children who see the world a little differently. My journey began over 15 years ago when I found myself searching for resources, connections, and support to navigate the world of special needs. Along the way, I realized that I wasn’t alone—there were countless parents like me, each seeking guidance and a sense of community.
I started small with a Listserv and began sharing information with about 80 families, educators and caregivers. The goal was simple: to connect people to helpful resources and let them know they weren't alone. As it grew, the need became clear to have a centralized space where parents can find reliable curated information.
Our Mission
J2J Corner is more than a website; it’s a resource, a community, and a lifeline for parents raising children with autism. We understand the importance of finding the right programs, tools, and opportunities to help your child thrive. Our mission is to bridge that gap by providing accessible, well-researched, and trusted resources tailored to the needs of families with special needs."
We aim to empower parents with the knowledge and support they need to advocate for their children. Whether it’s connecting you to recreational programs, helping you navigate educational systems, or simply being a place to find encouragement and understanding, J2J Corner is here for you.
Why J2J Corner
J2J Corner is named after my two sons, Joshua Elijah and Jabari Asim. They are the heart and soul of this project, inspiring me every day to create something meaningful for families like ours. Through this platform, I hope to honor their journeys and the incredible lessons they’ve taught me about perseverance, love, and the beauty of diversity.
